Tragic Stabbing of 13-Year-Old in Oldbury Sparks Murder Investigation
Police are seeking information following the tragic death of a 13-year-old boy who was stabbed inside his home in Oldbury, West Midlands. Authorities received a call from the ambulance service at approximately 4 PM BST on Thursday, but despite paramedic efforts, the boy was declared dead at the scene.
Ch Supt Kim Madill of West Midlands Police confirmed during a press conference that the incident occurred within the boy’s residence. She urged the community to provide any information that might assist in the investigation. ‘We will work with you and support you as we seek to find who is responsible for the death of this young boy,’ she stated.
The police have established an online portal for public submissions, including CCTV or Ring doorbell footage. Community officers and youth workers will be present in the area to address public concerns in the days to come.
In the wake of this incident, residents have expressed shock and sadness, with flowers being laid outside the property. One local resident remarked that she frequently saw the boy playing in the neighborhood and felt uneasy about the increase in knife crime in the region.
