Travis Kelce Reflects on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour appearance
Travis Kelce, the star tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, recently participated in an international pop culture event by appearing at Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour performance in London this June.
During the show, Kelce donned a top hat and a black suit tail coat, engaging in a skit where he carried Swift, who was dressed as if she were unconscious, before gently placing her on a red couch.
Kelce confessed that he was concerned about the possibility of dropping Swift during the performance, stating, ‘I just didn’t want to drop her when I was carrying her on that stage. That would have been the most embarrassing thing I could have ever done.’
In addition, Swift shared her own apprehensions about the skit, expressing some hesitation regarding Kelce’s ability to carry it out effectively.
‘There was definitely that extra like, ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’ Kelce explained.
However, Swift took measures to ensure Kelce’s experience was manageable and comfortable. ‘Taylor knew when the lights are on I’m gonna have some fun, and she put me in a position so that I didn’t have to do much for it to be a success.’
This year has seen Kelce experience moments of vulnerability at Swift’s concerts. Notably, during a performance in Amsterdam in July, he was observed in a box suite alongside fellow NFL player Patrick Mahomes and his wife.
Swift’s presence at Kelce’s workplace has also garnered significant media attention, as she has attended multiple Kansas City Chiefs games, including the team’s away playoff game and their Super Bowl appearance in Las Vegas.
In an interview last year, Swift addressed the intense scrutiny she faced due to her attendance at Kelce’s games, noting, ‘I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in.’ She further commented on the unexpected levels of attention she received.
