Trump to Meet with FBI Following Assassination Attempt
Former President Donald Trump has agreed to sit down for an interview with the FBI regarding the assassination attempt on him that took place during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania earlier this month.
Trump confirmed his plans in a Fox News interview, stating, «They’re coming in on Thursday to see me.» This interview is part of the FBI’s standard protocol when dealing with victims of crime.
The investigation has painted a picture of the suspect, identified as Crooks, as a reclusive 20-year-old who was described as «highly intelligent» with limited social interactions outside his family.
Details from the investigation suggest Crooks had an alarming interest in weapons and had researched mass shootings and explosive devices prior to the attack.
According to the FBI, Crooks had planned the attack meticulously, acquiring materials to create explosive devices found in his car and home. He had even practiced at a shooting range with the same weapon used during the attack.
During the incident on July 13, Crooks managed to fire eight rounds towards the stage at Trump’s rally, which resulted in chaos and injuries. Trump reported being hit by a bullet in the ear, while others were tragically harmed.
FBI officials have stated they are committed to uncovering all the facts surrounding the shooting. They have expressed frustration over encryption, which has hindered access to some of Crooks’ online accounts.
In the wake of this attack, there have been revelations of security lapses among local law enforcement leading up to the shooting, highlighting communication issues that could have potentially prevented the incident.
