TVS Launches the New Jupiter 110 Scooter in India
TVS Motor Company has launched its new scooter, the TVS Jupiter 110, in the Indian market. This updated model is set to replace the existing Jupiter, which has been popular for nearly a decade. The starting price for the new scooter is Rs 73,700 (ex-showroom).
The new Jupiter 110 is designed as a family scooter and is expected to compete directly with the Honda Activa. The company has made several enhancements to the scooter, making it more advanced compared to the previous model.
In terms of aesthetics, the new TVS Jupiter retains the same chassis as its predecessor but features a fresh design and look. The scooter now boasts a sharper and more stylish appearance, with a wide LED daytime running light located at the front. Additionally, the side profile has been significantly revamped, while the rear has a wider frame that enhances its attractiveness.
The performance of the new Jupiter is driven by a 113 cc engine, which generates 8 hp of power and 9.8 Nm of torque. This new engine shows a slight increase in power output, rising by approximately 0.1 hp. Notably, the scooter is the first in its segment to be equipped with ‘iGO Assist’ micro-hybrid technology, featuring a more powerful battery that charges during deceleration and supplies power to the ISG motor.
A distinctive feature of the Jupiter 110 is that it is the only scooter in its segment offering 12-inch wheels at both the front and rear. The top variant includes a 220 mm front disc brake, whereas the remaining variants are equipped with a 130 mm drum brake at the rear. The scooter has a 5.1-liter fuel tank located under the floorboard and also offers a front apron opening feature for convenience.
Among its features, the Jupiter 110 provides 33 liters of under-seat storage, which the company claims can accommodate two half-face helmets. The top variant is equipped with a Bluetooth-compatible digital display that offers turn-by-turn navigation, call and notification alerts, and voice assistance. The scooter can connect with the TVS SmartXconnect app, allowing users to access multiple features through their smartphones. Furthermore, the new model incorporates start/stop technology to improve fuel efficiency.
