TVS Motors has officially launched its new scooter, the TVS Jupiter 110, in the Indian market. This latest model will replace the longstanding Jupiter that has been popular for nearly a decade. The introductory price for this new scooter is set at ₹73,700 (ex-showroom), positioning it as a family scooter that directly competes with the Honda Activa.
The design of the new TVS Jupiter has undergone significant changes while retaining the previous chassis. It features a sharper and more stylish appearance compared to its predecessor. The front design includes wide LED daytime running lights, and the side profile has also been altered, providing a more attractive look from the rear with its broadened frame.
In terms of performance, the updated Jupiter is equipped with a new 113cc engine. This engine generates 8 horsepower and 9.8 Nm of torque, reflecting an increase of approximately 0.1 horsepower in output. The scooter is also the first in its segment to feature the ‘iGO Assist’ micro-hybrid technology, which includes a more powerful battery that charges during engine slowdown, aiding in power delivery.
A notable feature of the Jupiter 110 is that it is the only scooter in its segment to come with 12-inch wheels on both ends. The top variant includes a 220 mm front disc brake, while the other variants feature a 130 mm drum rear brake. Additionally, the scooter offers a 5.1-liter fuel tank located within the floorboard, along with a front apron opening feature that enhances convenience.
This model provides ample storage with 33 liters of under-seat space, claiming it can comfortably accommodate two half-face helmets. The top variant also boasts a Bluetooth-compatible digital display that includes turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, and notification assistance. Users can connect the scooter to the TVS SmartXconnect app through their smartphones, giving access to a variety of features. Furthermore, the new model incorporates start/stop technology to assist in enhancing fuel efficiency.
