Tycoons Backing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Presidential Bid
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign is gaining significant financial support from a diverse group of tycoons, worth a combined $37 billion. These backers include once-Democratic donors, political newcomers, and some of the biggest supporters of former President Donald Trump.
The main contributors to RFK Jr.’s campaign are Timothy Mellon, who has also backed Trump, and Shanahan, an ex-wife of Google cofounder Sergey Brin. Shanahan, who donated to Democrats previously, has spent $10 million supporting Kennedy, becoming his running mate in March.
Paul Mitchell Systems cofounder John Paul DeJoria, philanthropist and environmentalist, is another strong supporter of RFK Jr., donating $6,600 in September. Sisters-in-law Holly and Kelly Gores, private equity professionals, have each contributed $6,600 to Kennedy’s campaign.
Hedge fund manager Ackman, stalwart Republican Uihlein, and telecom billionaire Troutt are among the notable donors. Ackman has criticized Biden’s policies and voiced support for Kennedy and Trump. Uihlein, a big Trump supporter, has shown some interest in Kennedy in the past. Troutt, a Texas billionaire, has contributed to both Kennedy and Trump’s campaigns.
Former President of Harvard, Claudine Gay, Trustees, and Spearhead in research that starts with X. Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, main origin of Texas, played major roles on respective parties, New Mexico is making big strides on third-party representation, and of course, Bill Koch of the famous Koch brothers, Charles and David.
