Ukraine Utilizes British-Supplied Storm Shadow Missiles in Russia
In a strategic military development, Ukraine has reportedly used British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles on Russian territory for the first time. The Telegraph reports that debris from a Storm Shadow missile was discovered in the village of Marino, located in the Kursk region, on Wednesday.
The deployment of Storm Shadow missiles comes in the wake of a Russian counteroffensive in Kursk, which Ukrainian forces invaded in August. This military escalation occurs alongside United States President Joe Biden‘s recent approval for Ukraine to employ U.S.-made long-range missiles within Russian borders earlier this week.
The conflict has seen Kyiv previously utilizing Atacms missiles to target a military installation in Bryansk, marking an incident from early Tuesday. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin has taken the step of lowering the threshold for the potential use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine and its allies, underscoring the heightened tensions in the region.
