USPS Launches E-Commerce Platform ‘Santa’s Gift Shoppe’ with Toys»R»Us Partnership
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has unveiled a new online e-commerce platform, ‘Santa’s Gift Shoppe’, in collaboration with the iconic toy retailer Toys"R"Us. This initiative is specifically designed for participants in the USPS Operation Santa, now in its 112th year, aiming to facilitate the fulfillment of gift requests by children who write letters to Santa.
According to Sheila Holman, USPS Marketing Vice President, the new digital platform seeks to enhance the gift-giving experience by allowing citizens to browse and purchase toys seamlessly from a curated catalog. «This year, through our collaboration with Toys»R»Us, we’re thrilled to bring an easier way for generous people to make a difference. With the launch of this new e-commerce platform, we’re making it simpler than ever to help fulfill wishes and spread holiday joy,» Holman stated.
The introduction of this online service coincides with the start of the 2024 holiday season’s letter adoption phase, opening new avenues for supporters to make a difference in the lives of children and families. Once a letter is adopted digitally, participants can use ‘Santa’s Gift Shoppe’ to select and ship gifts, integrating with USPS shipping services such as USPS Ground Advantage for affordable and timely delivery.
Gary Haas, Vice President of E-commerce at Toys»R»Us, expressed the company’s enthusiasm about the partnership: “Through this new e-commerce platform, generous individuals can easily adopt a letter to Santa and help create magical moments for a new generation of Toys»R»Us kids.»
The formation of ‘Santa’s Gift Shoppe’ marks the first step in USPS’s plan to expand its digital offerings, with aspirations to include a wider range of products such as clothing and books in the future.
This innovative development arrives as Toys»R»Us continues its resurgence after filing for bankruptcy nearly seven years ago, with efforts including opening new outlets and partnerships to engage with customers in diverse settings like department stores and cruise lines.
Furthermore, USPS Operation Santa will be featured in a new season of «Dear Santa, The Series,» launching on November 24 on ABC-owned television stations and streaming on Hulu starting November 29, providing viewers with a heartfelt glimpse into the behind-the-scenes operations of the program.
