On Friday, May 10, the renowned indie rock band Vampire Weekend graced the stage at the Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City as part of their Only God Was Above Us tour.

The performance took place during the Kilby Block Party, where the band showcased their repertoire from various albums, with a significant focus on their debut self-titled album, along with hits from Modern Vampires of the City and their latest 2024 collection.

Adding a unique twist to their set, Vampire Weekend invited Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay to join them on stage, in a surprise move orchestrated by bassist Chris Baio.

The collaboration between the band and the reality TV personality was initiated through their YouTube series, Vampire Campfire, specifically Episode 2 titled ‘The Waldorf Astoria Bathroom’ featuring Josh Goldsmith.

In the episode, the band members discussed the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, leading to Baio’s invitation to the cast members, including Heather Gay, to attend the Kilby Block Party.

True to the invitation, Heather Gay made a grand appearance on stage during the performance, representing the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and engaging with the audience.

Continuing their tradition of merging music with celebrity guests, Vampire Weekend invited a fan to join them on piano for the song ‘Connect‘ before Heather Gay took the stage.

Embracing the spirit of collaboration and entertainment, Heather Gay participated in a fun round of the lawn game cornhole on stage, set to the band’s lively tune ‘Campus‘, reminiscent of their previous Coachella performance where Paris Hilton joined them for a game.

The following night, on May 11, Vampire Weekend had a much-anticipated return to Saturday Night Live‘s Stage 8H, delivering a stellar performance amidst skits by host Maya Rudolph, showcasing songs from their 2024 collection with ‘Gen-X Cops’ and ‘Capricorn’.
