JD Vance, a former president’s running mate and current U.S. Senator, is facing backlash after a photo emerged that appears to show him dressed as a woman during his college days at Yale Law School.

The photo, which sparked a lot of noise online, was shared by podcast host Matt Bernstein on social media. It shows a person who looks like Vance donning a blonde wig, a black blouse, and a skirt while playing beer pong. As the image circulated, it quickly garnered over 10 million views.

This incident has raised eyebrows, especially because Vance has been a vocal opponent of LGBTQ+ rights. He has pushed for laws that limit rights for transgender individuals and restrict gender-affirming care for minors.

Brandon Wolf, a spokesperson for a national LGBTQ+ advocacy group, pointed out the hypocrisy, saying, “Isn’t it interesting that MAGA politicians like JD Vance think that they are the only ones who deserve freedoms?”

Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of GLAAD, also weighed in, calling Vance a hypocrite for his anti-LGBTQ+ stance despite having a past where he dressed in drag. “Drag can be beautiful, fun, and empowering,” she added, highlighting the contrast between Vance’s actions and his political rhetoric.

The photo controversy has led to a wave of reactions on social media. Users have commented with jokes and memes, making light of the situation and Vance’s past, while many others emphasize the issue of hypocrisy in politics.

A second photo of a person resembling Vance in drag also surfaced, which added more fuel to the fire. The public continues to react strongly to these revelations about the senator’s college days.
