Vandalism at Canadian Minister Marc Miller’s Office Linked to Propalestinian Activists
The office of Marc Miller, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship of Canada and also the Member of Parliament for the Montreal constituency of Ville-Marie–Le Sud-Ouest–Île-des-Sœurs, was vandalized in Montreal. The incident involved broken windows, pink paint splattered on the facade, and graffiti accusing Miller of being a ‘child killer’.
A passerby alerted the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) in the early hours of the morning, leading to an investigation into the vandalism. The SPVM suspects propalestinian activists may be responsible for the vandalism.
Inside the office, black paint was splattered across the walls and furniture, indicating a targeted attack. The incident comes amidst ongoing propalestinian protests in the area.
The vandalism at Miller’s office was claimed on Instagram by propalestinian activists, stating their intention to continue their actions as a protest against what they label as ‘colonial institution’.
Minister Marc Miller condemned the act, emphasizing the safety of his staff. The incident adds to a series of incidents targeting establishments in Montreal during the recent conflict in Gaza.
Thomas Woodley, from Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East, pointed out the urgency of addressing the failures in initiatives assisting Gaza Palestinians. Marco Mendicino called for increased protection for elected officials in light of the incident at Miller’s office.
