Verona vs Inter: Key Serie A Clash at Bentegodi Stadium
The highly anticipated Serie A match between Verona and Inter is set to commence at the Bentegodi Stadium, opening the 13th matchday of the Italian football league. This encounter is characterized as a nearly polar-opposite battle in the standings, highlighting the contrasting fortunes of the two teams.
Inter, managed by Simone Inzaghi, arrives in Verona following a seven-match unbeaten streak in the league. Despite this impressive run, they missed the chance to top the table after drawing 1-1 with Napoli in their last outing. This match comes ahead of their important Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig.
Verona, coached by Paolo Zanetti, however, has experienced a more erratic season. The team has failed to draw any matches, recording four wins and eight losses so far. Their recent defeat came at the hands of Fiorentina, underscoring their inconsistent performance.
The starting lineups have been confirmed. For Inter, a notable absence is striker Lautaro Martinez, who returned to Milan due to a fever, paving the way for Tucu Correa to start. The lineup will feature a 3-5-2 formation with Sommer in goal; Bisseck, Acerbi, and Bastoni in defense; Darmian, Barella, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, and Carlos Augusto in midfield; Correa and Thuram lead the attack.
Zanetti’s Verona will field a 3-4-2-1 formation. The team includes Montipò as the goalkeeper; Daniliuc, Magnani, and Dawidowicz in defense; Tchatchoua, Serdar, Belahyane, and Bradaric in midfield; Harroui and Mosquera supporting forward Tengstedt.
Referee Andrea Colombo will oversee the match, assisted by Dei Giudici and Ceccon, with Marco Serra handling VAR duties. The match is scheduled to start at 3 PM local time. Fans can watch live coverage on DAZN, which offers all Serie A matches for the 2024-25 season, and it will also be available on Sky‘s channel 251 and Now TV.
Pre-match warm-ups have commenced, with both teams arriving at the stadium under favorable weather conditions reported by observers from Inter’s official communications channel.
