Channel 4‘s Sunday Brunch viewers were left unimpressed by Jess Glynne’s recent performance on the show, where she celebrated the release of her third studio album.

The 34-year-old singer took to the stage to perform her song ‘Easy’ from the new album, accompanied by a full band.

Despite what seemed to be a good performance, some viewers took to social media to voice their discontent with Jess Glynne’s vocals, particularly when she hit the high notes.

One viewer on X wrote, ‘What artist makes your ears bleed and why is it Jess Glynne?’

Another critic posted, ‘Sounding flat as a pancake there Jess Glynne.’ This sentiment was echoed by more viewers, with comments like, ‘Being stuck in a lift with Jess Glynne. Just the thought of it terrifies me.’

Earlier, Jess had opened up about considering quitting music due to the online scrutiny she faces, revealing that she has battled self-doubt and criticism throughout her career.

In an interview with The Independent, Jess Glynne expressed her struggle with the constant scrutiny and online criticism, admitting that it made her question whether she wanted to continue in the music industry.

She emphasized her desire for people to truly understand her as a person through her music, stating, ‘I want people to listen to my records and understand where they’ve come from, and understand the person that I am.’

As Jess aims to break free from being misunderstood, she hopes that her new album will provide an authentic insight into her experiences and emotions.

Online has reached out to representatives for Jess Glynne for comment on the recent backlash following her Sunday Brunch performance.
