Today marks the commencement of Phase 3 of the Lok Sabha elections as voters across multiple states in India head to the polling booths. With 93 Lok Sabha constituencies in play, the electoral battleground includes regions in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

Among the prominent figures whose political future hangs in the balance in this voting phase are notable names like Amit Shah, Mansukh Mandaviya, Parshottam Rupala, Prahlad Joshi, SP Singh Baghel, Sunetra Pawar, Supriya Sule, and Dimple Yadav. Additionally, former chief ministers such as Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Digvijaya Singh, and Basavaraj Bommai are actively engaged in the electoral contest.

Furthermore, the Lok Sabha election dynamics have witnessed unique candidacies, including Geetha Shivarajkumar, sister-in-law of the late Puneeth Rajkumar, vying for victory in Shimoga against opponents like BY Vijayendra and KS Eshwarappa. Notably, Gujarat’s Surat seat witnessed an uncontested win for BJP’s Mukesh Dalal, prompting election cancellation.

This phase also features the rescheduling of polling in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag-Rajouri due to logistical hurdles. As the voting in Phase 3 progresses, over 17 crore voters are poised to cast their ballots, shaping the political landscape for more than 283 Lok Sabha seats.
