Watertown Mourns The Passing Of Sally A. Herrick: A Life Remembered

Watertown, New York, is mourning the loss of Sally A. Herrick, 84, who passed away early Saturday morning at Samaritan Keep Nursing Home. Sally was a beloved figure in the community, known for her warm spirit and love for life.

Born in Adams to Clyde and Pauline Bacon, Sally attended Bellville High School before embarking on a career at Northland Electric in Watertown. After 32 years of dedicated service, she retired as an inspector, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and friends.

Sally’s interests varied from walking and shopping to driving and attending rummage sales. She had a particular fondness for motorcycles and the music of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, which often brought joy to her days.

She is survived by her five children – Connie Herrick, C. Edward «Eddie» and Betsy Herrick, Michael Herrick, Robin Herrick, and Gordon «Manny» and Kristin Therrien. Sally also leaves behind a legacy of love through her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Her memory is cherished by her brothers, Ronald and Lori Bacon of Henderson, and Robert and Scotti Bacon of Adams Center. Sally was predeceased by her parents and five sisters – Bonnie Place, Mary Lou «Bob» Hough, Sherry Kenyon, Lee Blair, and Donna «Tootie» VanBrocklin.

Arrangements for Sally’s services are entrusted to Cummings Funeral Service, Inc. in Watertown. Following her wishes, there will be no calling hours or formal services. Her family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Jefferson County in her honor.
