Wimbledon 2024 has witnessed record-breaking prize money figures as the finals draw near. In the women’s singles final, Jasmine Paolini faces off against Barbora Krejcikova, while Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic will compete for the men’s championship.

The All England Club, the host of Wimbledon, has announced a prize pot of £50 million for this year’s tournament, a substantial increase from the previous year. Players who exited the competition in the first round are guaranteed a £60,000 payout.

Deborah Jevans, the Chair of the All England Club, expressed delight at the increased prize money fund, emphasizing the importance of supporting wheelchair and quad wheelchair competitions by allocating £1 million in prize money for the first time.

In the men’s singles draw, the winner will take home £2.7 million, while the runners-up will receive £1.4 million. The prize money has seen a consistent rise over the years, with winners earning £2.35 million in 2023.

For the doubles championships, the winning teams will each be awarded £650,000, with £330,000 going to the runners-up. There has been an almost 12% increase in doubles prize money compared to the previous year.

Participants who reach the semi-finals, quarter-finals, and beyond in the various draws will also see significant cash rewards. The road to the final offers escalating prize money, with players in the earlier rounds not going unnoticed.
