Woman’s Home Damaged by Hit-and-Run Driver
In south Phoenix, a woman named Sylvia Fuentes woke up to a shocking scene outside her home after a car wrecked into her yard late Saturday night.
While Sylvia was sleeping, a car crashed into her property, taking out her fence, hitting two parked cars, and damaging the side of her house. The dramatic incident was caught on her Ring security camera.
She said, «I heard the big boom, but I didn’t think anything of it, I was half asleep.» It wasn’t until she got up later that she realized the extent of the damage.
When Phoenix police arrived around 12:30 AM, the driver had already fled the scene. Sylvia reported that nobody knocked on her door or reached out to her afterward.
The damage is particularly hard on Sylvia, who is already facing some serious medical issues. She expressed her frustration, saying, “It’s a devastating nightmare when you’re already dealing with life, health issues and whatever else.”
At the moment, Sylvia is waiting to see if her insurance will cover the repairs, but she also hopes the driver returns to take responsibility for the crash. She urged, “Please come back. Take responsibility for what you did.”
To help with the situation, family members have set up a GoFundMe account for Sylvia as she navigates the aftermath of this distressing event.
