Worship on Ekadashi Today
Today, August 16, marks the auspicious occasion of Putrada Ekadashi, a day dedicated to honoring Lord Vishnu along with Goddess Lakshmi. Devotees across the country are engaging in special prayers and rituals to seek blessings on this sacred day.
People who observe this fast believe that it helps in washing away all sins, both known and unknown, and brings prosperity and happiness into their homes. Many are opting for the Ekadashi vrat with hopes of fulfilling their desires.
Interestingly, this year’s Ekadashi falls under a rare Shivvas yoga, which began this morning. This astrological setup is said to enhance the positive effects of worshipping the deities, especially for those praying for wealth and success.
According to Pundit Harshit Sharma, the auspicious time to perform prayers continues until 9:39 AM today, after which the next day, Dwadasi, will begin. Devotees can dedicate their day to rituals, hymns, and spiritual practices during this time.
Today also sees the beginning of the Preeti Yoga at 1:13 PM, which will end tomorrow at 10:48 AM. This period is favorable for seeking blessings from Lakshmi and Narayan.
The sun rose at 5:51 AM and will set at 6:59 PM. Those looking for auspicious moments can take note of Brahma Muhurt from 4:24 AM to 5:08 AM and Vijay Muhurt later in the afternoon.
