WWE’s ‘Monday Night Raw’ to Debut on Netflix with January Premiere
LOS ANGELES (AP) — World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is set to showcase its popular show «Monday Night Raw» on Netflix starting January 6 from the Intuit Dome. This announcement was made public by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque during an appearance at Travis Scott’s concert held at ComplexCon in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Levesque later took to social media platforms to further disseminate the news, indicating that the partnership will initially make «Raw» available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Latin America. Over time, more countries are expected to gain access as existing contracts in those regions expire. Alongside regular airing, Netflix will carry all WWE shows internationally, which include high-profile events such as WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble.
Adding another element of entertainment, Travis Scott’s latest music will feature as the new theme song for «Monday Night Raw.» This aligns with WWE’s strategy to integrate popular culture with its productions.
The announcement comes amidst technical issues faced by Netflix during a high-profile event over the weekend. A significant number of viewers, numbering nearly 85,000, reported problems with streaming and buffering via platforms like Twitter/X and Bluesky. The issue occurred before and during a much-anticipated boxing match, according to Down Detector.
Despite the streaming glitches, Netflix revealed that the event reached a massive worldwide audience of 60 million, with concurrent streams peaking at 65 million. A notable bout featured Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, where Taylor secured her undisputed super lightweight championship, albeit amid another controversial decision. Netflix has committed to releasing more detailed viewership data in the coming week.
In addition to WWE programming, Netflix is also scheduled to broadcast two National Football League (NFL) games on Christmas Day, marking its continued expansion into live sports content.
