Chinese heavyweight boxer Zhilei Zhang delivered a seismic blow to the boxing world with a stunning knockout victory over former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Zhang, aged 41, faced off against the 38-year-old Wilder in a high-stakes showdown that ultimately saw Zhang emerge victorious with a fifth-round knockout, marking Wilder’s fourth loss in his last five fights.
Both fighters had previously tangled with Joseph Parker and Tyson Fury, showcasing their resilience and determination on the path to reclaiming the heavyweight throne.

Under the promotional banner of Frank Warren‘s Queensberry Promotions, Zhang’s victory solidified his position as a rising star in the heavyweight division, further highlighted by his status as ESPN‘s No. 6 heavyweight.
Following his impressive performance, Zhang expressed his admiration for Wilder’s legendary punching power, acknowledging the tough challenge he had overcome to secure the win.
With the referee calling off the fight at 1:51 of Round 5, Zhang sealed his triumph over Wilder, paving the way for a new chapter in his boxing career as he sets his sights on toppling current undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.
The historic matchup, organized by Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, ended with a $3 million check presentation to Frank Warren’s camp, marking a triumphant conclusion to the epic clash between Zhang and Wilder.
