Zooey Deschanel Taylor Swift Concert Canada

Actress Zooey Deschanel has garnered significant attention online after sharing a video of herself attending a Taylor Swift concert in Canada. The video features audio from an episode of the sitcom «New Girl,» in which Deschanel starred as the character Jess.

Deschanel attended the concert with her fiancé, alongside «Law and Order: SVU» actress Mariska Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann. During the event, Deschanel captured a moment where she filmed herself in the crowd, using an audio clip from «New Girl» season 2, where her character Jess expresses a desire to «listen to Taylor Swift alone.» The camera then panned to show the audience before focusing on Swift performing «Lover» on stage.

The video quickly went viral, amassing over 3.8 million views. This light-hearted nod to her television role and Swift’s music was perceived as a fun crossover by fans of both Deschanel and Swift. Newsweek reached out to representatives of both stars for comment.

Additionally, Jonathan Scott, Deschanel’s fiancé, shared footage from the concert on his social media, expressing gratitude towards enthusiastic Swift fans, known as «Swifties,» who shared friendship bracelets with their daughter.

This is not the first collaboration between Deschanel and Swift. The singer made an appearance in the «New Girl» episode «Elaine’s Big Day,» the finale of season 2, which aired in May 2013. Reflecting on this collaboration, Deschanel praised Swift’s genuine and kind personality on a recent episode of «The Mess Around,» a «New Girl» rewatch podcast.

As Taylor Swift continues her tour, Toronto was among her last Canadian stops, with an upcoming performance scheduled in Vancouver before concluding in December.
