PARIS, France — The anticipation is rising as the Roland-Garros 2025 tournament prepares to kick off. Qualifying matches for the second Grand Slam of the year begin on Monday, May 19, with fans eager to witness first-hand the action leading up to the main draw starting on May 25.

This year, 90,000 tickets have been made available for the opening week, surpassing the record of 75,000 from 2024. The qualifying rounds will feature 256 players, eager to secure their spot in the main draw, with matches scheduled from 10 a.m. through Friday, May 23.

On Thursday, May 22, the singles main draw ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. local time, a pivotal moment that will determine matchups for the tournament.

The Roland-Garros 2025 will host stars including defending champions Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek, alongside other elite players like Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. Nadal is set to make a symbolic return at the first-round matches on May 25, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of his first title win in Paris.

The Opening Week will also feature practice sessions where fans can catch a glimpse of their favorite players preparing for intense competition. Among the notable events is Yannick Noah Day on May 24, a celebration filled with activities aimed at entertaining families and promoting tennis.

As excitement builds, the tournament director, Amelie Mauresmo, commented on the growth of interest around the event. “We are thrilled to welcome back fans in larger numbers this year, and we are prepared for an unforgettable competition,” she stated.

With only days to go until the first serve is struck, tennis enthusiasts are encouraged to secure their tickets and join the festivities at the Stade Roland Garros.
