Extreme Heat Warning Issued for Las Vegas This Weekend

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for Southern Nevada as dangerously high temperatures approach this weekend. The warning began at 9 a.m. Friday and will last until 11 p.m. Saturday.
Friday morning temperatures are expected to start in the mid-70s, quickly rising to 104°F in the afternoon. Meteorologists indicate that Saturday could bring even higher temperatures, marking the peak of this heat wave.
The warning covers areas from Las Vegas to Laughlin. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and seek shade or air conditioning when possible. Health officials emphasize that taking breaks during the hottest parts of the day is crucial.
Following this intense heat, the forecast predicts a shift in weather patterns with cooler temperatures and stronger winds beginning Sunday night into Monday morning. Isolated showers may also occur, although the chances are slight.
This weekend’s conditions are expected to remain dry, with temperatures in the mid-90s on Sunday and Monday as Memorial Day approaches. Wind gusts may reach up to 40 mph, particularly on Monday.
After the holiday weekend, Southern Nevada will continue to experience temperatures in the mid to upper 90s, with predictions of returning triple-digit heat by next weekend.
