Fever Waive Rookies Amid Roster Cuts Before Opening Day

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indiana Fever made their first roster cuts of training camp on Monday, waiving rookie players.
The team is working to finalize its Opening Day roster, which will be limited to 12 players due to salary cap constraints. Among those cut were Hall, Drafted No. 20 overall, and Alleyne, who brings WNBA and international experience.
Hall, who previously played alongside Aliyah Boston at the University of South Carolina, did not participate in the Fever’s preseason opener against the Washington Mystics. However, in a later game against Brazil, he managed to score nine points in 16 minutes of play.
Alleyne, 30, played for the Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics throughout her WNBA career and has also competed in Israel. She recently averaged an impressive 18.6 points, 13.8 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.4 blocked shots per game while playing in Turkey. In the preseason, she did not play against the Mystics but contributed seven rebounds and three points in 10 minutes against Brazil.
At the onset of camp, there were five players vying for a single roster spot. Remaining options include Timpson, Jaelyn Brown, and Yvonne Ejim. In recent games, Timpson scored four points in nine minutes against the Mystics and nine points in 10 minutes against Brazil. Ejim had a quiet performance, going scoreless in five minutes against Washington but bounced back with six points in 12 minutes against Brazil. Brown, who joined the Fever from a trade with Dallas, scored two points in each of her games but also showcased her passing and defense with four assists and four steals in the win on Sunday.
The Fever will conclude their preseason on the road against Atlanta on Saturday. The regular season kicks off at home on May 17 against the Chicago Sky, featuring notable players Angel Reese and Haley Van Lith.
