Final Season Trailer of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Teases All-Out Revolution

LOS ANGELES, March 19, 2025 — Hulu has unveiled the official trailer for the sixth and final season of its acclaimed drama series, ‘The Handmaid's Tale,’ starring Elisabeth Moss. Set to premiere on April 8, the trailer hints at a climactic showdown as protagonist June Osborne, played by Moss, mobilizes a resistance against the oppressive regime of Gilead.

In the intense trailer, June passionately declares, “Rise up and fight for your freedom! We use all of our friends, everyone and anyone who hates Gilead, to finally declare: enough.” The series, known for its haunting depiction of a dystopian society, prepares viewers for an all-out war for justice.

The final season will launch with three episodes on April 8, followed by weekly episodes, concluding with the finale on May 27. The previous season left off in November 2022, pitting June against Serena Joy Waterford, portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski, as they found themselves unexpectedly united aboard a train filled with Gilead refugees.

Moss, who is also an executive producer and director on the series, expressed her perspective on the cliffhanger ending of season five. She stated, “It’s actually a pretty positive ending for the show and the season, which we don’t usually do. It’s a cliffhanger, but there’s a sense of hope.”

The newly released trailer clearly positions June and Serena Joy at odds once more. As June reconnects with her husband Luke, played by O-T Fagbenle, and love interest Nick, played by Max Minghella, she prepares to lead a revolutionary effort, while Serena appears at a crossroads, uncertain of what lies ahead.

The official synopsis reveals that June’s unyielding determination draws her back into the battle against Gilead. Together with Luke and Moira, she joins the resistance while Serena attempts to reform Gilead. The sixth season’s cast also includes Bradley Whitford, Ann Dowd, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine, and Josh Charles. ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ is produced by MGM Television and is based on Margaret Atwood‘s best-selling 1985 novel.
