Five-Star Quarterback Jared Curtis Set to Decide Between Georgia and Oregon

Georgia, USA – Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis is on the verge of a crucial decision that could shape the future of college football recruiting. Curtis, who is ranked as the nation’s top quarterback, will announce his college commitment on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. EST, with Georgia and Oregon as his finalists.
The Bulldogs have been a strong contender in Curtis’ recruitment since he first emerged as a prospect. Initially committing to Georgia on March 23, 2024, Curtis decommitted on October 17, 2024, to explore his options. He took visits to several schools including USC, South Carolina, Auburn, Alabama, and Ohio State.
Despite his decommitment, Georgia has remained a top choice. The Bulldogs have made a significant impression during Curtis’ recruitment, especially with recent visits to campus. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Georgia currently holds a 55.1 percent chance of securing Curtis’ commitment.
Curtis has expressed a strong connection to Georgia’s offensive coordinator. In comments made to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, he emphasized the importance of relationships with coaches in his decision-making process. “I have a great relationship with Coach Bobo and Coach Gummy (Montgomery VanGorder) and Coach Smart,” Curtis said. “That is a big reason why I committed there and why Georgia is still a place I love.”
During a visit to Athens, Curtis’ mother, Barbara, noted the welcoming environment they experienced. “We enjoyed Georgia. We always do…They treated us like family and we enjoyed our time there,” she shared.
Acquiring a quarterback of Curtis’ caliber would not only benefit Georgia’s program but could also attract other elite recruits, helping the Bulldogs maintain their position as a powerhouse in college football. The potential addition of Curtis would bolster an already talented roster, aiming for future success in an expanded College Football Playoff.
Even as Curtis considers joining Georgia, he will not be an immediate starter, as Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi are ahead of him. However, he could be pivotal in Georgia’s long-term aspirations against elite competition.
As decision day draws close, all eyes will be on Curtis and his choice between the Bulldogs and the Ducks. This commitment could reshape the recruiting landscape for the 2026 class.
