Curtis, who is ranked as the nation’s top quarterback, will announce his college commitment on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. EST, with Georgia and Oregon as his finalists.

The Bulldogs have been a strong contender in Curtis’ recruitment since he first emerged as a prospect. Initially committing to Georgia on March 23, 2024, Curtis decommitted on October 17, 2024, to explore his options. He took visits to several schools including USC, South Carolina, Auburn, Alabama, and Ohio State.

Despite his decommitment, Georgia has remained a top choice. The Bulldogs have made a significant impression during Curtis’ recruitment, especially with recent visits to campus. Curtis has expressed a strong connection to Georgia’s offensive coordinator. In comments made to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, he emphasized the importance of relationships with coaches in his decision-making process. “I have a great relationship with Coach Bobo and Coach Gummy (Montgomery VanGorder) and Coach Smart,” Curtis said. “That is a big reason why I committed there and why Georgia is still a place I love.”

During a visit to Athens, Curtis’ mother, Barbara, noted the welcoming environment they experienced. “We enjoyed Georgia. We always do…They treated us like family and we enjoyed our time there,” she shared.

Acquiring a quarterback of Curtis’ caliber would not only benefit Georgia’s program but could also attract other elite recruits, helping the Bulldogs maintain their position as a powerhouse in college football. The potential addition of Curtis would bolster an already talented roster, aiming for future success in an expanded College Football Playoff.
