LOS ANGELES, CA — After debuting at the top of the box office with $11 million during its opening weekend on January 24, 2025, the aviation thriller Flight Risk has continued to perform well, grossing over $30 million globally. Of this total, $25 million has come from domestic ticket sales, while $9 million has been earned internationally.

Flight Risk is currently available on various digital platforms, and Lionsgate has partnered with Collider to share exclusive behind-the-scenes images from the film, adding excitement for fans and new viewers alike.

Starring Mark Wahlberg, the film also features Michelle Dockery and Leah Remini. Jared Rosenberg wrote the script, while prominent filmmaker Mel Gibson directs, marking his first directorial effort since 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge, which garnered two Academy Awards.

The film has received mixed reviews, achieving a score of 30% from critics but a more favorable 63% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite the varying critical response, audiences seem engaged by the narrative and action.

This collaboration is not the first for Wahlberg and Gibson; they previously starred in the 2017 comedy sequel, Daddy's Home 2, alongside Will Ferrell. They also worked together on the 2022 biographical drama Father Stu, in which Wahlberg portrayed Stuart Long. The film, written and directed by Rosalind Ross, is available for streaming.

Looking ahead, Wahlberg fans may face a challenging wait for his return to the big screen, with expectations that he won’t appear in theaters again until 2026. He is set to star alongside Lauren Cohan in the upcoming crime thriller Play Dirty and in the action comedy Balls Up with Kellen Lutz, yet both projects are still in production without confirmed release dates.

While it’s uncertain whether either of these films will make it to theaters by year-end, the current focus remains on Flight Risk, which is still playing in select theaters and is now available for digital purchase on platforms like Amazon and Apple TV.
