Flight Threat Forces San Diego-Honolulu Plane to Return for Safety

San Diego, California – A Hawaiian Airlines flight from San Diego to Honolulu was deplaned on Tuesday after a passenger made a threat, according to the airline.
The Airbus A330-243 was pushing back from the gate for its scheduled 8:28 a.m. departure when the incident occurred. Hawaiian Airlines stated that the captain taxied the plane to a safe location on the airfield as a precaution.
The aircraft was met by both local and federal law enforcement, allowing passengers to be safely deplaned. The specific nature of the threat has not been disclosed at this time.
Video footage from SkyRanger 7 captured dozens of emergency vehicles on the tarmac near the plane, including patrol cars and unmarked black SUVs. However, no fire trucks appeared to be stationed nearby, and the situation seemed to be under control.
A rolling staircase was brought to the front of the Hawaiian Airlines jet, but no passengers were visible in the doorway. Nearby, two airport shuttle buses left the area around 11:10 a.m., likely transporting passengers.
Flight tracking website FlightAware reported minimal delays and only one cancellation at the airport as of 10:30 a.m. A spokesperson confirmed that flight operations at San Diego International Airport remained normal.
This is a developing story, and more details will be released as they become available.
