Orlando, Florida – A 31-year-old woman died after jumping from a 12th-floor balcony at the Contemporary Resort of Walt Disney World on October 14. Summer Equitz, a known Disney superfan, was reportedly visiting the resort alone, having traveled to Florida separate from her family.

Witnesses described a horrifying scene as they heard a “huge bang” shortly before Equitz fell, landing just 30 feet away from guests on the fourth-floor observation deck. One married couple vacationing at the resort recounted hearing the loud noise and quickly turning to see a woman lying on the ground, approximately 10 yards away from them.

According to an incident report obtained by The Post, one of the witnesses moved closer to check Equitz’s condition but found that she did not appear to be breathing. Another hotel guest noted seeing a figure out of the corner of her eye, coinciding with the loud sound.

At the time of the tragedy, a hotel employee was on the 15th-floor observation deck with a co-worker. Upon reaching the 12th floor, the staff member discovered a blue tote bag resting against the steel rail guard.

The events have raised concerns about the safety precautions in place at one of the world’s most visited tourist destinations. Walt Disney World officials have not released a statement regarding the incident as of yet.
