Former NCT Member Faces Court for Serious Charges

SEOUL, South Korea — The first court hearing for former NCT member Moon Tae Il is scheduled for today, June 18, 2023. This significant hearing comes after he was indicted on charges of aggravated quasi-rape.
According to legal sources, the hearing is taking place at the Seoul Central District Court in the 26th Criminal Division. The case involves allegations dating back to June 2022, when Moon and two accomplices reportedly committed the crime by acting in concert against a victim who was unable to resist.
The charges stem from an investigation by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office’s Women and Children Crimes Investigation Division 1, which is headed by Chief Prosecutor Kim Ji Hye. Moon, along with his two accomplices, was indicted without detention in March 2023.
Moon debuted as a member of the boy group NCT U in 2016 and later became part of NCT 127. Following these serious allegations, SM Entertainment announced his departure from the group in October 2022.
