Former NFL Star Cam Newton Involved in Altercation at Youth Football Camp in Atlanta
Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton found himself in the midst of a scuffle at a 7-on-7 youth football camp in Atlanta over the weekend, at the Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
The incident, which occurred during a tournament, saw Newton, who formerly played for the Carolina Panthers and the New England Patriots, attempting to intervene in a physical altercation involving individuals associated with TSP (TopShelf Performance), a renowned 18U 7-on-7 football program.
Video footage shared on social media depicted Newton, sporting one of his distinctive hats, stepping in to defuse the situation, as camp staff and security personnel swiftly moved in to restore order.
Authorities from the Atlanta Police Department have refrained from providing detailed comments regarding the incident at this time, leaving the circumstances surrounding the altercation somewhat unclear.
Newton, a prominent figure in the NFL who was the first overall pick in the 2011 draft after winning the Heisman Trophy at Auburn University, notably led the Carolina Panthers for nine seasons and also had a brief stint with the New England Patriots in 2020.
