Georgia Faces Ole Miss Amid Injury Concerns

AUBURN, Ala. — No. 9 Georgia scored early in the game against No. 5 Ole Miss with a field goal from Peyton Woodring, following a 36-yard reception by wide receiver Colbie Young on a flea flicker. However, Georgia lost Young to injury during this play on October 11, 2025. He hobbled off the field and was taken to the injury tent before heading to the locker room.
Young, who had 22 catches for 300 yards and a touchdown this season, arrived at Georgia as a transfer from Miami. Despite being sidelined due to an earlier domestic violence accusation, Young had returned to the field, catching 11 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns in 2024.
Reflecting on his experience, Young emphasized the importance of staying positive in the face of adversity. “We’re going to face adversity where you’re not going to be perfect every day,” he said. “But just knowing that we’re one of the best units on this team keeps our spirits high.”
As the Bulldogs prepare for a game against Auburn, they face additional injury concerns. Key players like Talyn Taylor, who suffered a collarbone injury, and Ethan Barbour, who is out for the season, will not play. Georgia’s offensive line remains under scrutiny, with junior Monroe Freeling listed as questionable for the upcoming match.
Kickoff for the Georgia versus Auburn game is scheduled for after 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, as the Bulldogs look to continue their successful season against another SEC opponent.
