Georgia Native Will Moseley Shines on American Idol, Reflects on Football Career

Georgia native, Will Moseley, is capturing hearts and attention across the nation as he competes on the hit show ‘American Idol‘. Hailing from Hazelhurst, a quaint town near Savannah, Moseley graduated from Maryville College in the spring of 2023.

Before his musical journey, Moseley was a football player for the Maryville College Scots, a Division III team located just outside Knoxville, Tennessee. His time on the field came to a halt due to concerns over repeated concussions.

In his emotionally charged ‘American Idol’ audition, held in Leesburg, Moseley performed his original song “Gone For Good prompting judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan to sway and applaud. Bryan, a Leesburg native, even joined in on the piano, showcasing his support for the talented contestant.

Moseley’s audition video has already amassed 1.4 million views on YouTube, with his original song “Gone For Good” making a splash on the music charts. Encouraged by positive feedback, Moseley has wowed audiences with renditions of country hits like “Whiskey and You” by Chris Stapleton and “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers.

Advancing to the Top 24, Moseley is now set to compete in Hawaii, with the chance to secure a coveted spot in the Top 20. Reflecting on his journey, Moseley expressed gratitude for the immense opportunity provided by ‘American Idol’, labeling it as a potentially life-changing moment.
