Giants Ignite Offense with Draft Picks Amid Seahawks’ Strategic Moves

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin — The New York Giants made headlines during the 2025 NFL Draft with key picks that suggest an upswing in their offensive potential. The Giants, who have struggled offensively for over a decade, selected linebacker Abdul Carter at No. 3 and future quarterback Jaxson Dart at No. 25.
In addition, the team added running back Cam Skattebo and guard Marcus Mbow in the later rounds, both viewed as significant values for their positions. This infusion of talent has sparked enthusiasm for the upcoming season, especially from commentators at The Ringer, who believe the Giants’ offense will be “fun and interesting to watch.”
Danny Heifetz, a longtime Giants fan, expressed optimism during a podcast, stating, “The Giants offense has been one of the least watchable offenses … Now, it’s going to be fun and interesting to watch.” He added that with new talent like Skattebo and returning player Malik Nabers, the red-zone efficiency could significantly improve.
However, not everyone shares this excitement. Former quarterback Craig Horlbeck expressed a different sentiment, suggesting he wishes a more dynamic player took the lead instead of established veteran Russell Wilson, now seen as the “boring option.” This is noteworthy given Wilson’s previously unpredictable playing style.
Meanwhile, as the Giants emerged from the draft with new offensive players, the Seattle Seahawks are also making waves. They hold 10 draft picks, including five in the top 100, and are focused on strengthening their offensive line after struggles last season.
Their draft strategy raises questions about the potential selection of a quarterback, even after signing Sam Darnold to a hefty contract. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald faces high expectations as he navigates his first full offseason without Pete Carroll.
This draft could reshape not only the Giants but also the landscape of the NFC with both teams strategically beefing up their rosters for the upcoming season.
