Kazakhstan Sky Glowing Objects Phenomenon

Astana, Kazakhstan – Unusual glowing objects appeared in the sky over Kazakhstan on June 5, 2025, stirring speculation on social media.

Russian Telegram channels linked the sighting to the Oreshnik missile, causing concerns among residents. However, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defense reassured the public that there were no violations of airspace and that there is no threat to the population.

“This phenomenon resembles remnants of a spacecraft re-entering the atmosphere or a meteor shower. Usually, they all burn up in the dense layers of the atmosphere and do not reach the Earth’s surface,” the Ministry of Defense stated. This reassurance aims to quell the rising fears about what people were witnessing.

The authorities emphasized the importance of remaining calm and cautioned against spreading false information. A thorough investigation into the phenomenon is already underway.

This sighting comes after a significant missile strike by Russian forces on Dnipro in November 2024, where the Oreshnik missile was allegedly used. Details on the Oreshnik missile remain sparse, but it’s believed to be a modification of the RS-26 Rubezh missile, with an estimated range of around 5,500 kilometers.

As the investigation continues, officials encourage the public to stay informed through credible sources.
