GMA Launches ‘SoCal Strong’ Campaign Amid Wildfire Recovery Efforts
LOS ANGELES — “Good Morning America” is broadcasting live from Southern California today as part of ABC News‘ expanded “SoCal Strong” coverage, aimed at supporting communities devastated by recent wildfires. The initiative focuses on recovery, rebuilding, and resilience, while encouraging viewers to contribute to local organizations aiding affected families.
Co-anchors Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan, along with chief meteorologist Ginger Zee, are reporting live from various Southern California locations. Chief national correspondent Matt Gutman and ABC News Live anchor Kayna Whitworth, who have been covering the fires since last week, are also contributing to the coverage.
The broadcast will feature live musical performances, including Aloe Blacc performing his song “Shine (Aurora)” and children’s choir The High Notes singing their original piece, “The Light in Me, the Light in You.” The program aims to highlight the resilience of impacted communities and provide ways for viewers to help.
In addition to the live coverage, Tory Johnson, a contributor to “Good Morning America,” is offering exclusive deals on products from brands like Laura Geller Beauty, Peepers, and Daniela Swaebe, with discounts up to 75% off. A portion of the proceeds will support wildfire relief efforts. Deals include cosmetics, jewelry, eyewear, and fire safety kits, with shipping available across the continental U.S.
ABC News and ABC-owned stations will continue their “SoCal Strong” coverage across multiple platforms, emphasizing the importance of community support during this challenging time.
