Google Shopping Ai Features Launch

Mountain View, CaliforniaGoogle has unveiled a series of new artificial intelligence (AI) features to enhance the online shopping experience for users. The updates, announced on May 20, 2025, include a virtual try-on feature that allows shoppers to see clothing on their own images, alongside enhancements to the AI-powered search capabilities.

The new AI shopping experience utilizes Gemini and the Shopping Graph, which showcases over 50 billion product listings from retailers around the world. According to Lilian Rincon, Vice President of Product Management, shoppers can expect a more personalized and efficient browsing experience. “Our latest tools allow users to find exactly what they are looking for, adjusting suggestions based on their personal preferences,” Rincon said.

One of the standout features is the new virtual try-on capability. Users can upload a full-length photo of themselves and see how various clothing items would look, tailored to their body shape and size. This tool aims to help customers make more informed decisions without needing to visit physical stores.

The announcement also highlighted the brand new “agentic checkout” process, which streamlines online purchasing. Users can set price alerts on desired products and receive notifications when prices drop, simplifying the buying process to just a tap on the “buy for me” button. By leveraging the security of Google Pay, the checkout process promises to be both quick and safe.

Additionally, the AI Mode search feature introduces a more interactive experience where users can conduct multiple queries simultaneously. For instance, by asking for a travel bag suited for a trip to Portland, Oregon, the AI will provide customized options based on specific criteria, including waterproof materials.

The AI-powered shopping updates are expected to roll out across the U.S. in the coming months, marking a significant advancement in integrating artificial intelligence into everyday shopping.
