SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Firefighters are actively battling a grass fire on the Southeast Side of San Antonio, near Interstate 37 and Southton Road, as evacuation orders have been issued for the affected area.
The San Antonio Fire Department, along with Bexar County Emergency Services Districts (ESD), responded to the blaze reported earlier today. As conditions worsen, officials are concerned about the fire’s rapid spread fueled by strong winds.

A Bexar County official confirmed the evacuation order, which affects residents east of Interstate 37, extending north to the vicinity of Burke Pruski Metal Fabrication at 13105 Donop Road and south to Southton Road. Residents are urged to leave immediately due to the fire’s rapid advance.
“It is crucial for residents in the area to evacuate swiftly as the fire is spreading quickly,” said a city spokesperson. The evacuation area has been designated for the safety of local residents amidst growing fire danger.
