Greg Hemphill reveals Viagra has saved his marriage to Balamory star wife
GREG Hemphill, best known for his role in the Scottish TV show Still Game, has recently opened up about how Viagra has played a significant role in saving his marriage to his wife, Julie Wilson Nimmo, who starred in the popular children’s show, Balamory. Hemphill admitted that he sought medical help after experiencing performance issues in the bedroom with his wife.
The actor, known for his honesty, shared his struggles with his wife during the filming of the new Scotland show, Jules and Greg’s Wild Swim. While Julie had been open about discussing menopause, Greg found it challenging to talk about his own male equivalent issue, which he hilariously referred to as “the drooping finger”.
Both Greg and Julie, now in their fifties, found themselves facing challenges that arose with age. Greg recalled how he was initially embarrassed to talk about his struggles but was relieved when the doctor understood right away what he was referring to. The doctor recommended Viagra, and according to Greg, it was like magic.
The couple discussed the impact this little blue pill had on their relationship. Julie admitted that initially, she felt hurt, assuming that Greg’s need for Viagra meant he wasn’t attracted to her anymore. However, she soon discovered that it was quite the opposite. Encouraging other couples in similar situations, she suggested embracing the help Viagra provided and getting “in amongst it”.
Greg and Julie jokingly addressed the stark difference between their relationship and that of pop legend Sting and his wife Trudie Styler. While Sting famously spoke about his long tantric sex sessions, Greg and Julie found humor in the fact that they were more practical, suggesting a quick trip to the chemist instead.
The couple, who first met on the comedy show Pulp Video in 1995 and got married four years later, have two children together. Their candid discussion on the challenges they faced in their relationship due to ageing has resonated with many viewers and sparked important conversations about the impact of age on intimacy.
