Cleveland Guardians Progressive Field Renovations

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Guardians are making headlines not only for their exciting start to the 2025 season but also for the impressive renovations at Progressive Field. As the Yankees and Red Sox visit this week, fans are discovering the newly opened Terrace Hall and Blue Moon Terrace Garden, which provide stunning views of both the game and the city.

The Terrace area is accessible to all fans, ensuring that spectators with standing room only tickets can enjoy the upgraded fan experience. With ample space to wander, sit at long tables, and catch game action on large TVs, these enhancements cater to a diverse audience.

Guardians President of Business Operations Brian Barren noted that the renovations aim to make the ballpark a social hub. “The concept of having spaces like a sports bar in the ballpark started in 2015 with The Corner,” Barren said. “These updates are an extension of that vision, providing a fan-friendly environment that embraces Cleveland’s baseball tradition.”

Attendance figures illustrate the growing enthusiasm among Guardians fans. The team has sold approximately 9,000 full-season tickets, the highest figure since 2019. For the first time since 2017, over 2 million fans attended games in 2024, contrasting sharply with previous years of reduced attendance due to the pandemic, where numbers dropped to 1.1 million in 2021.

Apart from field upgrades, fans are benefiting from affordable standing room only tickets that encourage attendance. In 2024, fans purchased 54-dollar monthly SRO tickets, a demand that has dual benefits: it enhances matchday experience and supports increasing attendance.

On the field, the Guardians have started the season strong, currently holding a 5-1 record, leading the American League with a 2.25 ERA. This comes despite concerns from scouts regarding the bullpen’s performance compared to last year. “I don’t think their bullpen will give them anywhere near what they did last year; how could they?” one scout stated. Nevertheless, the Guardians have managed to find new talents like Paul Sewald and Jakob Junis, who have contributed significantly to the team’s success so far.

In a recent game against the Baltimore Orioles, Guardians pitcher Logan Allen executed an exceptional 5 2/3 innings, limiting the opposition to just two hits. Allen’s performance was complemented by a breakout from Steven Kwan, who registered his third home run and third RBI of the season, helping lead the Guardians to a 6-3 victory.

Manager Stephen Vogt expressed pride in Kwan’s progress, acknowledging his improvement in handling inside pitches. “He’s so quick in there,” Vogt said. “I know pitchers aren’t trying to throw them in, but he makes them pay when they miss their spots.”

The Guardians have established a solid fan base over the years, with progressive field enhancements encouraging a communal atmosphere. The potential ahead for the Guardians is strong as both fans and players rally behind the team’s mission of blending tradition with modernity at Progressive Field.
