Erling Haaland World Cup Qualifying

Oslo, NorwayErling Haaland continued his remarkable scoring streak, leading Norway to a 4-1 victory over Estonia on Thursday night. The win positions Norway closer to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In front of a home crowd at Ullevaal Stadium, the Norwegian team dominated after a scoreless first half. Alexander Sørloth opened the scoring two minutes after the break, and moments later, he added a second goal, setting the stage for Haaland’s explosive performance.

Haaland scored his two goals within six minutes, showcasing his skill and precision on the field. His first came from a swift assist by Julian Ryerson, while his second was a powerful volley from David Wolfe’s pass. This brings Haaland to 30 goals in just 19 games for club and country this season.

Norway’s triumph leaves them with 21 points in Group I, putting them in a strong position to qualify. Conversely, Italy, currently trailing with 15 points, faces a daunting challenge to overcome a significant goal difference of 17 when they meet Norway on Sunday.

Despite Estonia finding the net twice, their efforts were too late to change the outcome. Haaland’s exceptional talent has become a cornerstone for the Norwegian team, who aim to secure their first World Cup appearance in 28 years.

The final group games will determine Norway’s fate, but with Haaland in form, their chances look bright.
