Haiti and Panama Secure Wins in Concacaf Qualifiers

MIAMI – Haiti and Panama both claimed victories Saturday to maintain their positions at the top of their respective groups in the Concacaf Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
In Group C, Haiti triumphed over Aruba with a decisive 5-0 scoreline at Compleho Deportivo Guillermo Prospero Trinidad in Oranjestad, Aruba. Danley Jean Jacques kicked off the scoring in the 29th minute with a close-range shot. Just six minutes later, Frantzdy Pierrot extended Haiti’s lead with a powerful left-footed strike from outside the box.
Aruba had a chance to score from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute, but Roviën Ostiana’s attempt was thwarted by Haiti’s goalkeeper, Johny Placide. Haiti continued to dominate when Ruben Providence found the net in the 61st minute. Duckens Nazon added to the tally from a free kick in the 67th minute, and Mondy Prunier wrapped up the scoring in the 86th minute. With this victory, Haiti improves to nine points and is set to host Curaçao on Tuesday for the group lead.
In Group D, Panama achieved a 2-0 victory over Belize at FFB Field in Belmopan. Fidel Escobar put Panama ahead with a header just ten minutes into the match. Eduardo Guerrero, who assisted the first goal, then scored himself in the 50th minute with a shot from the center of the box. This win elevated Panama to nine points and set up a crucial match against Nicaragua on Tuesday, with first place in the group at stake.
