Halyna Hutchins’ Family Lawyer Calls for Alec Baldwin’s Apology After Case Dismissal
Gloria Allred, the lawyer representing the family of the late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, has called for Alec Baldwin to offer an apology following the dismissal of the involuntary manslaughter case against him. Baldwin, the renowned actor, broke into tears after Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer dismissed the case in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Allred, who is handling the civil trial seeking damages for Hutchins’ family, emphasized Baldwin’s need for ‘human decency’ to express regret. She highlighted that the tragedy was not just about celebrities like Baldwin but about real victims like Hutchins, someone’s daughter and sister.
The decision to drop the case has left Hutchins’ family and legal team in shock and disbelief, labeling it as a ‘punch in the gut’. Allred expressed deep disappointment for the family, stating that the dismissal would only exacerbate their pain and suffering.
Alec Baldwin, aged 66, had consistently denied the manslaughter charge, asserting that he did not pull the trigger of the gun that resulted in Hutchins’ death on the set of the film Rust. The actor faced a potential 18 months in prison if convicted in the case.
