Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya made a strong impression during the first T20I match against Bangladesh at Gwalior, delivering a standout performance both with the bat and the ball. Pandya scored an unbeaten 39 runs off just 16 balls, which included two fours and two sixes. In the bowling department, he completed his full quota of four overs, conceding 26 runs and taking one wicket.

Despite Arshdeep Singh being named the Player of the Match for his three-wicket haul, Pandya attracted significant attention for his overall contribution to the team’s victory. However, his performance was met with mixed reactions.

Former Indian pacer RP Singh, speaking on Jio Cinema, remarked that while Pandya’s performance was commendable, it should not be used as a benchmark to assess his form. “You can’t judge a player’s form on the basis of his performance against Bangladesh. They are not playing good cricket at the moment,” Singh stated.

RP Singh further commented on Pandya’s abilities, noting that while he is capable of such all-round performances, the true test of his skill would be against more formidable opponents. “Hardik looked good and is capable of producing such all-round performances, but I don’t think we can take this performance into account while judging him. He needs to perform in the same fashion against a better team or in a better competition,” Singh added.

The match also highlighted Pandya’s fitness and ability to complete his bowling assignments, a positive sign for captain Rohit Sharma and the team management. The spotlight remains on Pandya as the Indian team prepares for tougher challenges in future competitions.
