MILWAUKEE and LE MANS, FRANCE, May 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Harley-Davidson® (NYSE:HOG) and MotoGP have announced a new global racing championship featuring Harley-Davidson bagger motorcycles. The series will debut in 2026 and will consist of twelve races held at six Grands Prix across Europe and North America.

In this series, riders will compete on race-prepared Harley-Davidson Road Glide® motorcycles. Each bike will weigh approximately 280 kilograms (617 pounds) and produce over 200 horsepower, reaching speeds exceeding 300 kilometers per hour (186 mph). The motorcycles are engineered by Harley-Davidson Factory Racing for head-to-head competition, ensuring all bikes are identical to promote close racing.

The competition will feature six to eight teams, with each team supporting two riders. Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President, and CEO of Harley-Davidson, expressed enthusiasm about the new series, stating, “This is a bold new step for Harley-Davidson’s global racing ambitions. We’ve seen how performance has resonated with riders and fans, and we know that they’re keen for more.”

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, which holds the MotoGP rights, highlighted the significance of this collaboration. He stated, “This partnership has big potential for both our strategies and will deliver a real spectacle for fans.” The two organizations aim to leverage each other’s strengths to attract new audiences and enhance the spectacle of Grand Prix weekends.

More details, including the official calendar and viewing options for fans, will be released soon. Both Harley-Davidson and MotoGP are excited about the opportunities that this innovative partnership will bring to the world of motorcycle racing.
