Harmanpreet Kaur Misses Consecutive Matches In Women's Premier League 2024

Mumbai Indians captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, has been unable to join her team in back-to-back matches during the 2024 season of the Women's Premier League. Her absence was notably felt when Mumbai Indians faced Royal Challengers Bangalore in their recent match. Without Harmanpreet, the squad was under the leadership of Natalie Sciver-Brunt, who took over the role due to Harmanpreet’s prevailing injury.

Mumbai Indians secured victories in their initial two encounters of WPL 2024 under Harmanpreet’s captaincy. However, their winning streak was disrupted when they lost to UP Warriorz in the absence of their key player. The captain’s presence was sorely missed as the team faced a tough challenge during the match.

Speaking to the press before the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sciver-Brunt confirmed that Harmanpreet Kaur would not feature in the game but expressed hope that she would be fit in time for the upcoming clash against Delhi Capitals. The captain’s absence was a setback for the team, but they remained hopeful for her swift recovery.

In the opening match of WPL 2024, Harmanpreet showcased remarkable form by scoring 55 runs off 34 balls. Her quick-paced innings featured seven boundaries and a powerful six against Delhi Capitals, helping Mumbai Indians secure a thrilling victory by achieving the target of 172 runs on the last delivery.
