Harry Potter Series Cast Announcement

LOS ANGELES, CA — HBO‘s adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter series is welcoming nine new cast members ahead of its anticipated production start this summer. The additions include Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, and Johnny Flynn as his father, Lucius Malfoy. Other new cast members are Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge.

Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby are set to portray Petunia and Vernon Dursley, Harry Potter’s aunt and uncle. These casting announcements follow previously revealed roles for Harry, Ron, and Hermione played by Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton respectively.

The series promises to be a ‘faithful adaptation’ of J.K. Rowling’s iconic book series, with a fresh take that explores different aspects of the wizarding world. Each season aims to bring Harry Potter’s incredible adventures to both new and long-time fans.

Francesca Gardiner serves as the writer and executive producer, with Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes. The series is produced in association with Brontë Film and TV, alongside Warner Bros. Television. Additional executive producers include J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman.

Production will commence in the U.K. at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. While an official premiere date has yet to be announced, HBO Max plans to stream the series, along with the classic films available worldwide.
