Heavy Traffic Expected as Medal of Honor Motorcade Travels to Gainesville

DALLAS, Texas – Drivers along Highway 114 and I-35 should prepare for heavier-than-usual traffic and potential delays on Wednesday, as the Medal of Honor motorcade makes its way from DFW Airport to Gainesville.
The Medal of Honor plane is scheduled to land at DFW Airport on Wednesday afternoon, with the motorcade anticipated to depart around 4 p.m. Local authorities expect hundreds of law enforcement officers, first responders, and patriotic motorcycle riders to join the procession, which will travel through Grapevine, Southlake, Northlake, and onward into Fort Worth, heading north on I-35W.
Southlake police have announced that they will close the “Texas turnaround” portion of the Carroll Avenue bridge over Highway 114 starting at 3:30 p.m. This closure is intended to provide a safe viewing area for those wishing to witness the motorcade.
If you typically drive along Highway 114, consider taking an alternate route to avoid potential traffic congestion.
The motorcade is expected to arrive in Gainesville at Tractor Bob’s at approximately 5:15 p.m. This marks the beginning of a series of events scheduled for Medal of Honor week, which will continue through Saturday with gatherings in Gainesville over the next four days.
