Hot Toys Unveils New Gi-hun Figure for Squid Game Season 2

SEOUL, South Korea — With just days remaining until the release of Squid Game Season 3, Hot Toys has launched a new collectible figure of the show’s protagonist, Seong Gi-hun. Released in conjunction with the forthcoming season, the figure showcases Gi-hun in his signature Player 456 green tracksuit, complete with a mask bearing the iconic square symbol.
This latest figure is inspired by Gi-hun’s appearance in Season 2, which debuted to mixed reviews—earning a rating of 83% from critics and 63% from audiences. Despite not achieving the acclaim of its predecessor, the new season continues to evolve the alarming narrative of the survival games that ensnared a desperate group of players.
Fans of the series can also spot a six-legged pentathlon game included in the figure pack, along with a specially designed platform representing the trademark Squid Game staircase. Hot Toys’ release marks the first collectible connected to the Squid Game franchise, a pivotal moment for the company as they expand beyond traditional superhero figures.
“We are excited to present the new Seong Gi-hun figure for our dedicated fans,” said a Hot Toys spokesperson. “This piece not only represents a character beloved by many but also captures the essence of the world that Hwang Dong-hyuk has created.”
In addition to Pop Culture references, Hot Toys has shifted focus toward Marvel collectibles, having recently released merchandise related to the MCU. They also teased figures tied to the upcoming Blade movie, although details remain scarce. The Gi-hun figure can be pre-ordered now, continuing the tradition of high-quality collectibles that fans have come to expect.
Netflix has confirmed June 27 as the premiere date for Squid Game Season 3, which will also be the series’ final season. While fans are preparing to say goodbye to the main storyline, the streaming giant has hinted at future projects tied to the Squid Game universe, with series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk stating his intent to remain involved in its evolution.
As the anticipation builds ahead of Season 3, fans can catch up on the previous seasons of Squid Game streaming on Netflix. The survival drama continues to captivate viewers with its unique premise: a tournament where cash-strapped participants play a series of children’s games with deadly consequences and the chance to win a staggering 45.6 billion won.
