Ibsen Ghosts Broadway Production Cast

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Lincoln Center Theater is gearing up for the debut of its highly anticipated production of Henrik Ibsen’s ‘Ghosts,’ set to officially open on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.

This new adaptation, crafted by acclaimed Irish playwright Mark O’Rowe, brings a fresh perspective to Ibsen’s classic moral thriller. Under the direction of Tony Award-winner Jack O’Brien, the play explores complex themes of love, duty, and family, all while unraveling a harrowing secret that Helena Alving’s son, Oswald, returns home with.

Featuring a talented ensemble cast, ‘Ghosts’ stars Ella Beatty as Regina, Billy Crudup as Pastor Manders, Levon Hawke as Oswald, Hamish Linklater as Engstrand, and Lily Rabe as Helena Alving. The production also boasts impressive creative contributions, including sets designed by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Jess Goldstein, and original music by Mark Bennett, who also handles sound design alongside Scott Lehrer.

“This spectacular new version grabs you by the throat from the outset and refuses to let go,” O’Brien stated about the production. The play promises to be an electrifying experience, culminating in a gripping climax that reflects Ibsen’s unflinching examination of societal norms and personal duty.

In addition to the main performances, ‘Ghosts’ will run a series of previews starting on March 6, with additional showings on March 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15 at 8:00 PM, as well as matinee performances on March 8, 15, and 16 at 2:00 PM. Chris De Camillis serves as stage manager for the production.

As anticipation builds for Ibsen’s return to the stage, theater enthusiasts are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the haunting narrative and rich characterizations that define this deeply provocative play.
